It turns out that breaking and entering can really work up an appetite, as shown by an unusual arrest made by police officers in Etten-Leur on Thursday morning. After breaking into a house, a burglar was discovered cooking frikandellen, a popular Dutch snack. "This is something we won't forget anytime soon," one of the police officers shared on Instagram.

The officers caught the burglar red-handed inside the home. "The man was evidently quite hungry," the officer continued. He was busy frying Frikandellen when they arrived. "The frikandellen were already done," added a colleague.
The suspect is now detained in a cell complex, and the frikandellen have been confiscated as evidence. "Because that's evidence," the officer concluded.
